Flagship factory inspires 4 minute showreel for national exhibition

Bison has been a leader in the design and manufacture of structural precast concrete products since 1919. It has three factories in the UK and has been a partner in high profile building projects such as Wembley Stadium and Kings Cross Station.

Its state of the art factory in Swadlincote, Derbyshire is the most technically advanced hollow core precast concrete plant in the world and enables high volumes of products to be produced in the minimum timeframe. All processes are fully automated and highly efficient, reducing energy requirements and wastage. The site even has its own recycling plant to deal with any waste products from the production line.

Bison commissioned Quiet Storm to produce a DVD that would showcase this technical expertise, combining a company overview with a factory tour and explanation of the manufacturing process.

The Quiet Storm On-Show team ensured they had a thorough understanding of Bison and its production process at Swadlincote prior to production. Then they worked closely with company personnel to develop the script and a filming schedule. A combination of video, still images, text and narrative was used to create a dynamic, four minute DVD.

Bison initially commissioned the presentation for use at the FutureBuild 2008 exhibition held at Earl’s Court – a key event in the off-site construction industry where the latest building products and processes are showcased. The show typically attracts in excess of 30,000 visitors.

Colin Richardson, Group Commercial Director said: “We were very pleased with how Quiet Storm met our brief and with the final version of the DVD. It has been used at exhibitions and seminars and also as part of customer presentations. The general feedback from our own personnel as well as our customers has been good. With the need to convey a great deal of information in a short space of time we knew that the screen was going to be rather busy in terms of data and pictures but we feel it works.”
