East Midlands Chamber (Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire) is the region’s leading business organisation. With a growing membership base of more than 4,300 companies, it provides a voice for the business community at local, regional and national level.
From start-up to scale-up and local to global, the Chamber is renowned across the region for enhancing businesses and communities in the three counties it represents. The Chamber delivers a diverse and multifaceted range of business services that thousands of businesses access each year to help them flourish and grow – irrespective of size, sector or location.
It also campaigns tirelessly on a wide range of economic, business and trading issues to ensure the voice of East Midlands business is heard. From lobbying, campaigning and helping businesses realise their international trading ambitions to showcasing, market-making activities and workforce training and development, the Chamber works on behalf of its members and the wider business community.
Quiet Storm has been a proud partner and patron of the Chamber for many years. We were once again delighted to be tasked with creating its Annual Report for 2020.
Enhancing businesses and communities
Although the COVID-19 pandemic and its resulting lockdowns hit the economy hard during 2020, the Chamber continued to support its members, partner organisations and the wider business community. Its annual report showcased its achievements from various teams across the Chamber. It covered how the Chamber responded to coronavirus, including its East Midlands Coming Together campaign, the move towards virtual delivery of events and services, and representing the region’s business community to key decision-makers.
It also included essential information for the financial year that ended March 2020, highlighting how the Chamber worked towards reaching its vision of supporting East Midlands businesses and communities. And looking ahead, it offered an insight into how the Chamber is involved with helping young people enter the labour market via the Kickstart scheme, mobilising its international trade team to keep overseas trade flowing and using the new Sustainable East Midlands campaign to support businesses in engaging with the green agenda.
It was the fourth year running that Quiet Storm was tasked with creating its annual report. To bring the project to fruition, we had to develop a creative design concept for Board approval that reflected the Chamber’s current brand guidelines and visual identity.
We worked closely with Head of Marketing Zoe Waistell and her team to collate content, images and case studies before designing the final 16-page document that can be viewed online here. It followed our work on the Chamber’s website and marketing materials produced for a host of other Chamber events, including its annual business awards and its celebration of culture and communities.
Invaluable support
“2020 was an unprecedented year in lots of ways, and we’re all aware of the impact that the coronavirus has had on member businesses across the East Midlands. However, despite this uncertainty, the Chamber worked hard to support our members and communities across Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire, and the annual report was all about showcasing what we have achieved.
We’ve worked with the Quiet Storm team on projects such as this one for many years, and they are a safe pair of hands. Not only did they pull together the design concepts and the overall brochure to a tight timescale, but they also helped coordinate the project to accommodate all the changes we wanted to make and ensure our deadlines would be hit.”
