The Wildlife Trusts’ updated website introduced on Page 1 of this newsletter doesn’t just make visiting it a pleasure for the public, it has also made life easier for the organisation itself.
Quiet Storm has designed the main site with an extranet – called wildNET – that enables the Trusts’ head office to upload new information on a day-to-day basis.
For an organisation that needs to maintain up-to-date records and add and share new information about, for example, species, this is very important. Not only does it mean the site can be updated, it means it can be done without the use of complicated programs or having to pay experts to do it for them.
WildNET also allows the 47 local Trusts based around the UK to update certain areas of the site themselves.
Items to which they can make alterations include job vacancies, volunteering opportunities, events, facts and figures about the Partnership and news items.
