Enrych is a registered charity that empowers people living with a disability across Derbyshire and Leicestershire to live active and independent lives.
It provides leisure and learning opportunities and one-to-one support to adults living with physical or learning disabilities or poor mental health and those who are socially isolated. It supports its service users with a range of initiatives designed to increase their self-confidence, develop independence, meet people with similar interests and reduce social isolation. It also helps members improve their fitness, emotional health and wellbeing, connect and engage with their communities and, most importantly, have fun.
Its current activities include a Personal Assistant service, a Volunteer Befriending service and a Digital Inclusion Service, along with online support groups and social events. Enrych was founded almost 35 years ago by Leonard Cheshire and Sue Ryder and continues to seek new and innovative ways to help the people it works with engage and achieve their personal and social goals. As a local charity based in our home village of Whitwick, it approached Quiet Storm for help in redeveloping its existing website to give it a more significant online presence and more control of its content.
A flexible solution
Quiet Storm is a keen supporter of local charities and community organisations, so we were delighted to offer our expertise to such a worthy local cause, which does vital work in supporting local people. Following an initial discovery session, we were tasked with creating a new website design to reflect Enrych’s visual identity and values, promote the services it delivers and help raise awareness of its activities.
It was looking for a flexible solution with a simple content management system that was easy to administer by its in-house team, so they didn’t need to keep coming back to us to request uploads. The site also needed to be optimised for the right keywords to increase its visibility online via the search engines.
We created a news page and a separate blog section to share its latest updates, and service users could share their experiences. We also created an events page and an online events calendar and integrated its Facebook feed across the site.
‘Help and support’
Enrych CEO Liz Rickaby said:
“Our new website has made an enormous difference to the way we present ourselves online and has helped increase our visibility. We offer many different types of support to users across our operating area, so bringing it all together in a single hub which signposts people to the information they need has really helped.
“Having a clean, modern, and easy-to-navigate website also increases our credibility and makes it much easier for our members to access the support they need. The team at Quiet Storm has also been amazing at providing all the advice and training we need to get the most from the website, which has resulted in a lot more traffic to the site. “Their team is very helpful, nothing is too much trouble, and they are always on the end of a phone if we need anything.”
