Two prestigious awards evenings just one week apart – both a resounding success. The Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce knew they were in safe hands with Quiet Storm.
The annual Business Awards for the counties of Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire attract the most successful organisations in the region. Usually four months apart, DNCC decided to move the Derbyshire event to September, seven days after the Nottinghamshire awards night.
Rachael Buxton DNCC’s Head of Events explained: “We wanted to make sure that both our business awards schemes would fit in with the judging of the regional and national Chamber of Commerce Business Awards. Holding both events so close together was a lot of work but Quiet Storm have been integral to the Derbyshire awards for ten years so we were confident they would provide us with the quality and speed of service that was needed. They exceeded our expectations. They produced 51 finalist videos and all the printed materials. The quality was excellent and the turnaround extremely quick.”
“All of this was handled smoothly for us by Quiet Storm who proved once again their value as a partner. Feedback from both events was fantastic.”
The Nottinghamshire awards night was held first, at Colwick Hall Hotel on Friday 23rd September and one week later The Roundhouse was the venue for the Derbyshire event. Finalists from both awards nights were entered into the Chamber of Commerce regional awards, with winners going automatically through to the national awards.
Quiet Storm produced promotional leaflets for both events, evening programmes, finalist and winner certificates, menu cards, wine sleeves and tickets. In addition, four roller banners and two sets of pop-up display stands were re-skinned for the 2011 events. Quiet Storm liaised with each of the finalists to film and produce a 60 second video profile that was broadcast on the awards night as their name was announced. Organising, filming and editing 51 videos within a tight timescale was challenging but essential to the success of the evenings.
The Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce (DNCC) is the leading business organisation in the East Midlands. With a growing membership of more than 3,400 businesses and 8,000 affiliates, it is the third largest chamber of commerce in the country.
